Embracing the warmer weather this weekend so I created a recipe for a healthy iced tea.
I did an infusion of Turmeric and Ginger tea, combined with lime juice and honey.
The bright colour of this drink comes from Turmeric, and when paired with ginger, it creates a hint of spiciness.
Both Turmeric & Ginger are medicinal herbs that are traditionally used as anti-inflammatories. There are many studies demonstrating effectiveness of these herbs for pain relief. Clinically, I use Turmeric (also known as Curcumin) often for pain relief associated with arthritis, menstrual cramps, migraines, and general muscle/joint aches - just to name a few. 🙂
Recipe
• 1 Litre infusion of Turmeric & Ginger Tea
• 2 Tablespoons of freshly squeezed lime juice
• 1 Tablespoon of Honey
• Served over ice
Instructions
1.) Steep Turmeric and Ginger tea for 15 to 20 minutes. I used 4 tea bags to 1 liter of water ratio.
2.) After steeping, add lime juice and honey, stir to combine.
3.) Pour over ice and VOILA!
